EASY TIPS TO MAKE BACK TO SCHOOL A BREEZE!
Where did the Summer go? I can't even begin to comprehend how those three months vanished so quickly? My days have gone from laid back, carefree days with my boys to back to school chaos. Well, not chaos anymore but I will be honest between getting my kids ready for school, helping with homework, cooking meals, maintaining a house, and transporting to extracurricular activities...my nerves were shot! Well, that was last year. This year I learned some simple, yet effective tips I would like to share with you, to make your school year less stressful, and more enjoyable.
TIP # 1 PLAN AHEAD TO REDUCE STRESS
My first tip is common knowledge, but I would bet that you do not utilize it enough. What is it? Simple, plan ahead to reduce stress, and make back to school easy. My mornings used to be a rushed frenzy of trying to get kids breakfast, dressed, and ready for school. Our kids seem to sense when we have somewhere to go, and choose to move at a snails pace. My suggestion, do as much as you can to prep the night before school. I now set out clothing and shoes the night before school. Have backpacks ready to go with school snacks and all set to go by the door. Try allowing yourself and extra 15 minutes in the morning, by setting your alarm 15 minutes early. It is amazing how 15 minutes can make such a difference in the morning, but it does. it will allow you and your children more time to eat, and get dressed without such a rush. I hope this helps make your morning a bit less stressful and rushed! It certainly helped me.
TIP # 2 ORGANZIE TO REDUCE CLUTTER
Try setting up an organizational system with bins to separate important papers, and keep them out of the reach of little hands that love to doodle on stuff they shouldn't be touching! I avoid clutter by setting up a cleaning time with my kids where they put toys away in organized bins. I try to make it fun by creating a clean up song. This will help your kids to feel involved, reduce mess, and hopefully help them to become more organized.
TIP # 3 MAKE A MEAL PLAN FOR THE WEEK
Try to set up a meal plan for the week on Sunday, so dinner time is planned out and easier for you. I am a huge fan of using one ingredient for multiple meals, making it ahead, and freezing it for the week ahead. This will not only make busy after school time easier, but it will save you money by using the same ingredient for multiple meals.
TIP # 4 BRING ACTIVITES AND SNACKS TO KEEP CHILDREN OCCUPIED ON OUTINGS
I like to bring an activity bag for my toddler on outings. Lets face it, your two year old won't want to sit on the bleachers patiently to watch your seven year olds Little League Game. He gets bored easily, doesn't want to sit still, and then comes the mischief. I traded my stress for proactive planning. I now bring age appropriate games, and snacks. It has helped tremendously. I always have SippyNipple on hand. SippyNipple is a staple in my activity bag! It has a 100% leak proof guarantee so I do not have to worry about messes. Plus, when my two year old is done, I simply throw my water bottle in the recycling bin, no stinky cups to worry about. SippyNipple has definitely made my life as a mom much easier!
I hope these tips help to ease your stress, and make for an easy, and happy school year!
